This incredible 1956 Jaguar D-Type model was hand-built in 1:11 scale by one of the best of the old guard of model makers, Michele Conti. The racing Jaguar is finished in traditional British Racing Green and features red leather seats, a fully detailed dash, and plenty of other intricate details. The underside features Conti’s early maker’s transfer decal and the model is mounted on a wood display base.
Furthermore, the model includes the original certificate card detailing the production specifications and is signed by Michele Conti. This highly detailed D-Type Jaguar was completed on 30 September 1958 as a commission for a client in Florida. As is to be expected of a 63-year-old scratch-built model, there is some slight aging to the finish, along with a chip in the windshield, though this wonderful example wears its patina very well.
