Offered is a very rare collection of Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy mascots. This unique presentation includes nine vintage mascots displayed within the custom Rolls-Royce radiator shell, while a tenth Flying Lady takes pride of place atop the radiator.

1. This example was used on the Silver Ghost models. Either silver or nickel plated, these early mascots were produced from 1911 to 1914. They were designed and manufactured by Charles Sykes and marked “Rolls-Royce Limited February 1911” and signed “Charles Sykes” on the top of the base. Note that early reproductions are inscribed “FEB” and not “February.” Approximately 17.8 cm tall.

2. This Spirit of Ecstasy was produced from 1918 to 1925 and manufactured by Charles Sykes. These were also featured on the Silver Ghost models. Marked “Rolls-Royce Limited Feb 6 1911.” Approximately 14.9 cm tall.

3. Produced from 1929 to 1936, this type mascot was used on the Phantom I models. They were made from solid nickel but also bronze and were either silver or chrome plated. Various sizes were produced.

4. This example was featured on the Phantom II. It is inscribed “C. Sykes, R.R. Ltd. 6.2.11” and marked “Reg. Us. Pat. Off.” under the left wing and “Trade Mark Reg.” under the right wing.

5. This type of example was produced from 1929 to 1935. Made from solid nickel, but also featured in bronze, they were either silver or chrome plated. This style Spirit of Ecstasy mascot was used on the 20/25 HP models.

6. Designed by Charles and inscribed “C Sykes, RR Ltd 6.2.11.” The mascot is marked “Reg. Us. Pat. Off.” under the left wing and “Trade Mark Reg.” under the right wing.

7. This kneeling Spirit of Ecstasy was produced from 1933 to 1955. They were made from solid nickel, silver-plated bronze, or chrome-plated brass. This type was used on Phantom III, Silver Wraith, Wraith, and Phantom IV models, with “C Sykes” inscribed on the base. Very early examples had the same markings with an additional headband.

8. After 1940 these mascots were manufactured by Rolls-Royce themselves. Marked “Reg. Us. Pat. Off.” under the left wing and “Trade Mark Reg.” under the right wing. Rolls-Royce versions are unsigned. Early post-war examples had two wing markings, while later versions were only marked “Reg pat off” under one wing. Stainless steel examples had no markings or signature. Some were marked “Rolls Royce Motors Ltd.” around the base.

9. This style Spirit of Ecstasy was stamped “Rolls-Royce Motors Limited” only on post-1965 export cars. Although the cars all had a standing mascot, this example was also suitable for fitment to the Silver Shadow, Corniche, Silver Wraith, and the Silver Spur, but not for later cars where the mascot retracts into the top of the radiator body.
