  • One Family owned which was originally purchased in April of 1954
  • Interior is red leather and black cloth
  • Column mounted automatic transmission and V-8 engine

This is a one-family owned vehicle that was originally purchased in April of 1954 from Mordon and Johnson Packard in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. The Packard is two-tone with a red roof over an ivory colored body. The interior is red leather and black cloth. The vehicle is reported by the previous owner to be in “mostly original” condition with a repaint in 1969. Close-up examination, especially of the hood, reveals some crazing of the paint, although overall it is still presentable and able to maintain a shine. The car is equipped with a column mounted automatic transmission and V-8 engine.

As noted this is a largely original vehicle. Body, interior, glass, chrome and frame are all in good to very good condition. This can be considered a very good “driver” quality vehicle ready for the cruise-in or touring.

Accompanying the vehicle is an owner supplied timeline which documents the names and date of family ownership, since it was acquired new in 1954, through 2008 when it was donated to a museum. While in the museum the vehicle has frequently been displayed as an excellent example of a mid-50s Packard design before the major styling change that occurred in 1955.

Since 2008 this Packard has been part of a museum collection. However it has been driven and shown and starts and runs easily. But since it has been part of a collection the buyer is advised that it may require some degree of re-commissioning before placing it into routine service.
