185-hp, 324.3-cid OHV V-8 engine, four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, coil spring independent front suspension, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel power hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 122.0-inches

For 1954, Oldsmobiles grew both in size and strength. Wheelbase increased to 122 inches, and all engines were bored out to 324 cubic inches. Super 88 and 98 cars had four-barrel carburetors and developed 185-hp. Zero-to-sixty times of 12.4 seconds were remarkable for the day, as was an 18-second quarter mile. GM’s excellent Hydra-Matic transmission found its way into most cars. All models had the new General Motors panoramic windshield.

This Super 88 Holiday hardtop coupe is presented in a delightful shade of yellow called Maize Cream. All contours and paint are excellent, as is the brightwork but for some age scratches on stainless components. The interior is a green leather and cloth combination, nicely set off with a green headliner with chrome bows. The engine compartment and undercarriage however, are not as well detailed and show some wear from age and use.

Equipment includes power steering, power brakes, clock, radio, heater, day-night inside mirror, and lights in the luggage compartment and under the hood. An excellent example of Oldsmobile’s third-most-popular style of 1954, this Super 88 Holiday represents very good value.
