HANDLE WITH FUN

RM Sotheby’s is thrilled to present Handle With Fun, the most fun and whimsical auction to come to our Online Only sale platform yet. Offered largely without reserve, this time-based auction will feature a diverse collection of rare and vintage collectibles and memorabilia spanning the spectrum of the market from toys and coin-operated equipment to vintage signs, gas station ephemera, as well as a curated selection of delightfully quirky cars. Kicking off the spring season, Handle With Fun is set to open for bidding at 11:00 a.m. EDT on 5 May with lots closing in a staggered format beginning at 10:00 a.m. EDT on 12 May and continuing the following day, 13 May.

 

Be sure to familiarize yourself with all the auction details coming soon, particularly with regard to auction logistics and transportation, as most memorabilia lots are to be collected from Madison, Georgia.

Bidder Registration Requirements

The following items will be required for you to submit your registration:

  • One of the following: Driver's License, Passport Identification, or ID Card
  • Proof of funds (Proof Of Funds or Bank Statement)
  • Credit Card (used for a pre-auction authorization)
  • If registering as a Company, Proof of Company (Incorporation documents, VAT/Tax Number)
  • If registering as a North American dealer, copy of Dealer and Resale Tax Certificate

Buyer’s Premium

The Buyer’s Premium for all motor car lots in this auction is 10% of the hammer price, and the Buyer’s Premium for all non-motor car lots is 20% of the hammer price.

Taxes/Import Duties

Bidders are responsible for any applicable duty and/or local taxes on any motor car(s) or any other lot(s) purchased. International bidders are advised to inform themselves of potential import duties that would be due upon arrival of the lot(s) to its final destination. You are advised to speak with your local representatives in advance of the sale to understand what these costs would be. The location in which the lot is sold is clearly indicated on the lot page found on rmsothebys.com.

 

Payment Options

Payment is due in full on or before 17:00 of the next business day following the auction, and payment is to be made to RM Sotheby’s (‘RMS’). Following the sale, our Administration team will send you your bill of sale and arrange payment details with you directly.

 

Lot Removal/Shipping

RMS strongly advises Buyers to make immediate arrangements for the collection and transport of purchased lots. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to make their own arrangements, but RMS is pleased to offer our clients the services of the following preferred companies:

If the lot is to go into storage, storage fees will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please note that it is the Buyer’s responsibility to insure their purchased lot(s) whilst in storage, as insurance is the Buyer’s responsibility once the lot is sold.

 

Titles/Registration Documents

You will not receive your title for your car at the time of the sale. We manage the title transfer process on your behalf to ensure the car is free of liens and encumbrances. For motor cars sold a $75.00 USD administration fee ($85.00 USD in the State of California) will be assessed per motor car(s) purchased by an individual Buyer. Note this fee will not apply to nostalgia lot(s). You can expect your title to be couriered to you within 20 business days post-sale, at which time you can register the car at its final destination. If a Lot(s) is rendered “Title in Transit,” it is unlikely that the Buyers will receive the title in the mail within 20 business days following the auction; however, RM will work to provide the titles to the Buyer as soon as possible.
