On December 28, 1967 Elvis Presley saw this car parked outside a Memphis car dealer's showroom, and it was obtained by him for his own personal use. He is said to have traded in a 1966 Oldsmobile Tornado towards the purchase. He drove it on personal business for a little more than a year before it refused to start. At this point, a frustrated Elvis pulled out his sidearm and fired a shot into its right front fender. Fortunately the shot did not disable the car and Presley, thrilled with the recent birth of his daughter Lisa Marie, gave the Cadillac to Priscilla Presley’s stepfather. It was eventually purchased by an Australian businessman, and subsequently brought to America. Elvis’s Own “TCB” (Takin’ Care of Business) lightning bolt decals are displayed on each door, and the infamous bullet hole is still found.

This was the second year for this Eldorado design; powered by a 472-cid, 375-hp V-8 engine with an automatic transmission set up on a front-wheel drive platform. The mileage on the odometer registers approximately 16,300, and the car is elegantly presented in Topaz Gold Firemist with an optional vinyl top. The saddle-toned interior has rosewood trim elements and many luxury convenience features that provide comfort and graciousness expected in a true luxury automobile. Being shot by “The King” gives this car credence as one of pop culture’s ultimate conversation pieces.
