  • Ground-up body-off restoration.

  • Reportedly over $100,000 invested in the restoration.

This era of Cadillac conveys true beauty, magnificent performance and incomparable character; they certainly exude a large presence. This particular car has been restored from the ground up after being totally disassembled, including having the body off of the chassis. Mechanically every component has been rebuilt, restored or replaced. This includes engine, transmission, full wiring, all windows, brakes, steering, suspension and exhaust; plus more.

The interior was completely redone with NOS factory cloth, correct heavy leather hides, NOS headliner, Wilton wool carpets and the correct paint. Even the intricate interior striping on the painted areas has been replicated. The under-seat heater functions properly, as well as all of the electrical components, gauges and power seat.

The 331-cid, 210-hp V-8 engine is mated to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, and it runs beautifully; especially on the highway, but it easily cruises with traffic. The car is reported by the owner to not having concours-quality paint, but assures us that it is very nice and “probably 90-point” in presentation. This Series 62 is well-equipped with chrome wire wheels, driver’s side spotlight, radio, Autronic Eye; power seat, windows, steering and brakes. The Cadillac is reported to have over $100,000 invested in the restoration alone.
