Having gone their separate ways after 1969, Ford and Carroll Shelby made up in 2003. The first project was a new Cobra concept, shown at various venues. There followed a coupe version, called GR-1, but production never materialized. Then, at the 2005 New York International Auto Show, Ford rolled out a new GT 500 Mustang, along with Shelby himself to introduce it. Powered by a 5.4-liter modular Ford V-8, it became available the following summer. With four-valve heads and an Eaton supercharger, it made 500-hp.

This, in turn, rekindled memories of the GT 350H Shelby Mustang rental car offered by Hertz in 1966. Shelby worked up a prototype for a reprise of that car in the modern idiom. Thus was born the GTH, a modified Mustang coupe with hotted-up 4.6-liter V-8 available at selected Hertz counters. A consumer version became available in the summer of 2007, in a limited run of 6,000 cars. Ford’s Special Vehicles Team also released a small run of supercharged 5.4-liter cars.

This 2007 GT 500 SVT Convertible is a brand new car that was originally owned by Dallas Cowboy star quarterback, Mr. Troy Aikman. With just 10 miles showing, it is perfect from bumper to bumper, gorgeous in white clearcoat with black leather interior, black top and black boot. It has the standard air conditioning, Shaker 500 audio system, SVT suspension, six-speed Tremec transmission, dual tuned stainless exhaust and Brembo vented discs. Anti-lock brakes with traction control and remote keyless entry are included.

Fewer than 700 of these cars were built. This one represents a chance to acquire a brand new example.
