Mercury’s prestige Montclair series was new for 1955. Sharing pride of place at the top of the catalog with the Sun Valley glass-roof coupe was the Montclair convertible coupe. Just 10,668 were built.

Recipient of a recent professional body-off restoration; this attractive 1955 Mercury Montclair presents well in Yukon Yellow. The contours, paint and brightwork are all very presentable, nicely contrasted by a black-and-white vinyl and cloth interior. The top is black canvas with a matching boot. The engine compartment is very clean, with excellent attention to detail, including correct hoses and clamps. The chassis is very tidy and painted matte black, while the underbody has black undercoat.

Previous owner Dick Vallecorsa treated the car very well during his 15-year ownership. Well-optioned, it is equipped with power steering, power brakes, AM radio, clock, power top and a driver’s door mirror. We understand a small collection of memorabilia and parts accompanies the car, including a 1955 full-line brochure. The flagship of the 1955 Mercury line, this car is stunning in every respect.
