Documents: Italian Libretto

611 bhp, 5,999 cc DOHC 65-degree V-12 engine, six-speed manual transmission, front and rear independent suspension with double wishbones, coil springs, an anti-roll bar, and electronically controlled telescopic dampers; and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,750 mm

  • One of just 10 manual-transmission examples delivered to Europe
  • Gorgeous Grigio Silverstone over Cuoio colour combination
  • The final Ferrari V-12 model equipped with a manual transmission

Boasting an engine derived directly from the Ferrari Enzo, the 599 GTB is a ground-breaking achievement for Ferrari. Marketed as a dual-purpose grand touring and sportscar, the 599 could easily outmatch the performance of Ferrari’s iconic F40, even with all of its luxury accoutrements. It is also significant as the last front-engined, 12-cylinder Ferrari offered with a traditional six-speed manual transmission, as the new F12 Berlinetta could only be had with an F1-style dual clutch transmission.

Only 30 manual-transmission 599 GTBs were produced by Ferrari and of those, just 10 were delivered new to Europe. This example was delivered new to its first owner through Motor Service S.R.L., the official Ferrari dealership in Modena, Italy, in June 2007. Finished in a spectacular colour combination of Grigio Silverstone (FER. 740) over Cuoio, it is equipped with a yellow tachometer, yellow brake callipers, carbon fibre dashboard, carbon fibre centre console, Daytona-style seat inserts, and a Bose stereo. The car is believed to have remained in Italy from new and was serviced by Motor Service S.R.L. in September 2010 with just 779 kilometres from new and once again in December of 2012 at only 1,099 kilometres.

While standard F1-transmission equipped 599s are relatively common in the marketplace, due to their sheer rarity, the manual-transmission examples are seldom ever offered for sale. Thus, an opportunity to acquire a manual 599 GTB is an opportunity that should not be missed. As one of only 10 offered in Europe, manual-transmission 599 GTBs have cemented their status as a modern-day collectible and will be treasured for years to come.

Motore V-12 a 65°, doppio albero a camme in testa per bancata, 5999 cc, 611 Cv, cambio manuale a sei marce, sospensioni anteriori e posteriori indipendenti con doppi bracci trasversali, molle elicoidali, barra antirollio, ammortizzatori telescopici a controllo elettronico; quattro freni a disco ventilati. Passo: 2750 mm

Please note this lot is currently under an order of seizure, which will be removed following the sale. Upon receipt of payment from the buyer, RM Sotheby’s will liaise with the appointed administrator for release of the seizure, which is expected to take approximately 10 days. During this time, lots will remain onsite at the Fiera Milano and collection can be arranged after confirmation from RM that the seizure order has been lifted.
For lots with a current Italian libretto, please be aware that the PRA must remove the seizure order from its records before re-registration can take place in any country. This process is expected to take 6-8 weeks, during which lots may be transported to an EU destination but may not be exported.
