This Silver Shadow was purchased in August 1971 by Mary C. Ruger, mother of William B. Ruger Jr., the consignor, for her own use. All of the original documentation of that purchase is complete, including the owner’s identification card and a letter of welcome from Rolls-Royce Inc. dated September 8, 1971. Mrs. Ruger gave the car to the consignor in 1989, and he has enjoyed it for the succeeding 23 years.

Chassis SRX10687 had been serviced at various Connecticut and New York City service facilities, and since its move to New Hampshire in 1998, it has been regularly serviced at Foreign Motors West, now known as Bentley Boston. It has received every known update and improvement available for the Silver Shadow and Bentley TT cars, including the Harvey Bailey suspension improvements, constant velocity rear half-shafts, the updated fluid-drive carrier, and numerous other refinements.

This car has had one repaint in the original colors of Shell Grey over Tudor Grey. It is totally original in every respect, and all systems are believed to be up to date in service and fully operational. The original tool kit is complete, as are all the jacking tools, and a complete file of service documents is included with the car. It should also be noted that this is one of the original chrome bumper and high-compression versions of these cars. Their performance is much better than most of the later cars, and some think better looking as well.
