Once described by Top Gear as a “non-nonsense, straight-talking British brute,” the V12 Vantage was one of the first cars produced from Aston Martin after the company had parted ways with Ford. Originally announced in December of 2007, the production car was finally unveiled 15 months later, in at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.

The design of the V12 Vantage was simple in concept; take the giant 5.9-litre V12 engine from the DB9 and DBS and force it into the small engine bay of the sleek and sporty V8 Vantage. To offset the extra 100 kg caused by the massive engine, engineers utilised lightweight materials. Carbon ceramic brakes, thin-spoked alloy wheels, lightweight quarter panels, and optional lightweight seats meant that the V12 weighs in at only 50 kg more than its V8 brethren. With a top speed nearing 200 mph, and capable of hitting 62 mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds, this excess weight is easily managed by the V12’s 510 bhp. Add to this Aston Martin’s smoothest six-speed transmission, and it isn’t hard to see why the V12 Vantage is considered the ultimate drivers Aston.

Offered from its first and only private owner, chassis S00016 was the sixth production car off the line at Aston Martin Gaydon’s factory. Produced in May 2009 and built to Middle Eastern specifications, it was retained by Aston Martin for the first six months of its life and then delivered to its first and only owner in the United Arab Emirates. Serviced regularly by Aston Martin throughout its life, it has been driven 37,000 km from new. Included with the vehicle are one crystal ECU key, a second plastic valet’s ECU key and the owner’s manual, along with a small folio of service invoices.

Designed for the open road, this 2010 V12 Vantage is ready and waiting for its next driver.
