With only around 180 examples produced between 1962 and 1964, the Facel Vega Facel II is undeniably rare—yet some cars retain an especially unique history. Presented here is chassis number HK2 B 171, which was Facel Vega’s show car at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. It was sold off the stand to its original owner, an elegant European socialite so taken with the car he patiently waited until the show was over to drive it out of the building.

Amazingly, the car would remain in single-family ownership for the following 53 years. Thought to have never been restored, the car has been very well preserved in its original condition as it would have appeared on that show stand in Geneva. Its metallic blue paintwork shows characterful patina, and the tan leather interior is still in wonderful condition with few signs of use. The odometer itself shows less than 21,000 km at the time of cataloguing, which is consistent with the car’s appearance throughout.

In 2016, the Facel II was purchased by Mr. Guikas through RM Sotheby’s making him the car’s second owner in its nearly 60-year lifetime. Combining French styling with American horsepower, there was perhaps no better car to take on a European grand tour. With seating for four, plenty of boot space, and a 355-brake horsepower Chrysler V-8 at its heart, these cars make highly compelling alternatives to Bentleys and Mercedes-Benzes of the same era. This car’s incredible ownership history and motor show provenance only add to its alure. Its sale includes a tool kit and spare wheel.

Capable d'accueillir quatre personnes avec leurs bagages, dotée d'un V8 Chrysler de 355 ch, ce modèle constituait une alternative extrêmement convaincante aux Bentley et Mercedes de la même époque. L'incroyable histoire de la voiture présentée et sa présence au Salon de Genève ne font qu'enrichir son statut. Elle est vendue avec trousse à outils et roue de secours.
