Arguably one of Aston Martin’s most polarising designs, the V8 Vantage Zagato brought Aston Martin and Zagato together yet again, pushing the design language of both companies forward into the future. Looking to extract as much performance as possible from this new car, the chassis was shortened, the rear seats were removed, and any trim and gadgets deemed unnecessary were excised. Critically, the bodywork was made of aluminum, leading the V8 Vantage Zagato to weigh in at some 10 per cent lighter than standard V8 Vantage on which it was based.

Chassis number 20053 is one of just 14 left-hand-drive examples fitted with the manual transmission. Its fetching colour scheme, Javelin Grey over a black leather interior, cleverly accentuates its design, giving it a subtle yet muscular appearance. In November of 2018, the car was recommissioned by its previous owner to ensure it was running smoothly. Upon being acquired by Mr. Guikas in May of 2019, the Aston Martin was subject to servicing and recommissioning work, and is offered with its service book with historic stamps. This included a complete check-over by André Bloom Thoroughbreds, the Aston Martin specialist workshop in Staffordshire, England, while also receiving new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and refurbishment of its alloy wheels. The car still presents in excellent condition both inside and out.

Over 30 years later, the design of the V8 Vantage Zagato remains just as mesmerising as it was the day it was introduced. Beloved by enthusiasts for its brilliant driving dynamics in addition to its thrilling looks, it is a significant model in the histories of both Aston Martin and Zagato—and a car no collection of significant Aston Martins should be without.

Ce châssis numéro 20053 est l'un des seulement quatorze montés en direction à gauche avec boîte mécanique. Son élégante harmonie de teintes, gris Javelin et intérieur en cuir noir, vient idéalement souligner son esthétique en lui assurant un aspect raffiné mais tout en force. La voiture a été remise à niveau en novembre 2018 par son précédent propriétaire, pour garantir qu'elle tourne rond. Lorsque M. Guikas l'a acquise en mai 2019, elle était en cours d'entretien et de remise en état. Elle est proposée avec son carnet d'entretien régulièrement estampillé. On peut citer entre autres un contrôle complet effectué par André Bloom Thoroughbreds, l'atelier spécialiste des Aston Martin basé en Angleterre dans le Staffordshire, ainsi que la monte de nouveaux pneus Michelin Pilot Sport accompagnée d'un nettoyage en profondeur des roues alliage. Cette voiture est désormais en excellent état, intérieur comme extérieur.

Plus de trente ans après, l'allure de la Vantage V8 Zagato demeure tout aussi fascinante qu'au jour de son lancement. C'est une voiture prisée des amateurs pour son comportement dynamique exceptionnel associé à une allure sensationnelle ; c'est par ailleurs un modèle qui a marqué l'histoire d'Aston Martin comme de Zagato et qui ne devrait manquer à aucune collection des plus grandes Aston Martin.
