In what is recognized as the “Golden Age” of Trans-Am racing, the Ford against Chevrolet battles are still regarded as some of the best racing the series ever saw. The Bud Moore Ford Mustangs were driven by Parnelli Jones (number 15) and George Follmer (number 16) and were rewarded with the 1970 Manufacturer’s Championship in cars that closely resemble the looks of this fantastic number 14 Boss 302.

This 1970 Boss 302 is a solid, rust-free example Grabber Orange example. According to the Deluxe Marti Report, it was delivered to Nelson Ford Inc. in St. James, Minnesota. It left the factory as a well-equipped example featuring front and rear spoiler, Sport Slat rear window shade, Shaker hood scoop, Sport Deck rear seat, Sport Slats, AM radio, clock, Deluxe interior, and more.

With the popularity of the Trans AM series, a book was released entitled "Boss 302 Chassis Modification." The book outlined how to modify one's Boss 302. This Boss 302 features numerous period modifications inspired by the publication.

Modifications include strengthening at all stress points of the vehicle to provide more rigidity, shock tower braces, export brace and unique Monte Carlo bar, a heavily modified suspension, adjustable front and rear sway bars, four-wheel disc brakes, flared and modified wheel wells to accommodate larger tires, Koni shocks, Panhard bar, and a Detroit Locker rear end. The Mustang is powered by a Boss 302 V-8 engine which is paired to a four-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. Other additions include magnesium Minilite wheels, Accel dual-point, distributor, onboard fire extinguisher, and trunk-mounted battery.

The deluxe interior features a Philco radio, Nardi steering wheel, three-inch lap belts, and a fold-down rear seat. For weight reduction, the heater has been removed from this race-inspired Mustang.
