NASCAR’s most popular driver from 2003 until his retirement in 2017, Dale Earnhardt Jr. followed in his family’s footsteps through his pursuit of stock car racing glory. Making his first NASCAR start in the Busch series in 1997 racing the #31 car for his father’s team Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, Junior would go on to win back-to-back championships in 1998 and 1999 before stepping up to the Winston Cup series full time in 2000.

A phenomenal talent from the get-go, Junior would score his first victory on his 12th start in the top series. Up until 2008, he would pilot the iconic #8 Budweiser Chevrolet for his dad’s team and garnered a reputation as a superspeedway master by achieving four consecutive wins at Talladega Superspeedway between the fall of 2001 and the spring of 2003. Highlighting his hall-of-fame career, Dale additionally became a two-time Daytona 500 champion in 2004 and 2014.

The car on offer was sold by Dale Earnhardt Incorporated to Gene Felton Restorations in 2002 and wears the body of a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Earnhardt’s #8 Budweiser Livery. As stated on the bill of sale from this transaction, the car was sold without an engine, transmission, or rear gearing. Gene Felton, a noted racecar restorer, completed the drivetrain and would enter the NASCAR in HSC/SVRA vintage stock car racing events.

Prior to entering the Dare to Dream Collection in 2015, the brakes, fuel system, body, chassis, and engine were serviced as stated on an invoice from 2014. With some additional work, this stock car would make for a fantastic track-day companion at any vintage stock car racing event.
