Model D255. 350 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, four-speed manual transmission, coil spring independent front suspension, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and power hydraulic disc-front and drum-rear brakes. Wheelbase: 115 in.

Chevrolet’s 1955 sedan delivery was new, based largely on the two-door station wagon but with some unique panels and a one-piece liftgate; just 8,811 of these were built. This car has been the beneficiary of a complete restoration about five years ago. The original engine was replaced with a Corvette 350 power plant, bored 0.030 over with four-bolt mains, Keith Black pistons, competition lifters and pushrods, Edelbrock aluminum heads, and a Weiand intake manifold. It is mated to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission feeding a nine-inch Positraction rear end. New blue paint is accented by a cream pinstripe and, correspondingly, all glass and trim have been replaced.

Other features include chrome modular wheels with tri-bar spinners, a custom billet grille with tri-bar headlights, and a Lecarra steering wheel. A Flowmaster exhaust system with long-tube headers gives it the right sound. All sedan deliveries have cachet, but this one has an added dose of flair.
