375 hp, 429 cu. in. Super Cobra-Jet Ram Air V-8 engine, four-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension with live rear axle, and front disc and rear drum brakes. Wheelbase: 109 in.

Like the original Mach 1, the ’71 Mach 1 retained some distinctive features, such as racing-style hood pins, a black finished hood with intakes, and the Mach 1 script on the quarter panel. For a little more money, the Mach 1 could be jazzed up with a rear deck spoiler, Magnum 500 wheels, tinted glass, a console, and a gauge pack, to name a few items. At the beginning of production, the 429 Cobra-Jet Ram Air topped the performance charts, with only 531 produced for 1971. This is a perfect example of a strong performer. It is an all-original and unrestored Ford with the original, intact Bright Red paint and Vermillion interior. Factory equipment includes power steering, power disc brakes, and a pushbutton radio. With the exception of a new exhaust, very little has been altered. It was the feature cover car of Mustang and Fords in May 2003, and it is still worthy of a feature today.

Marti Report included.
