85 hp, 221 cu. in. L-head eight-cylinder engine, three-speed manual transmission, live axle suspension with transverse leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulically-actuated drum brakes. Wheelbase: 112 in.

The 1940 model Fords are prized for their handsome balance of proportions and were a favorite among hot rodders for their affordable parts and easy upgrades. This DeLuxe coupe has yet to see the wrench of a hot rodder or the torch of a customizer. It has a nice straight body with good panel fit and only a few minor imperfections in the paint finish. The car has received some restoration work in its past, although imperfections are visible on certain trim pieces and brightwork. The engine compartment also reflects the older restoration, with aftermarket clamps, hoses, and plug wires. The Bedford cord upholstery remains tight and smooth, while the dash and components show some wear. This is a delightful Ford coupe that has developed a lovely patina and can be maintained and enjoyed as is, or with little effort, be restored to one’s liking.
