A car which needs no introduction, the Carrera GT proved to enthusiasts in the early 21st century that Porsche had not lost its way and was still very much capable of producing a world-beating hypercar. Utilizing the very best technologies available to develop the chassis and drivetrain, the Carrera GT stood tall against the likes of the Ferrari Enzo and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Unlike Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, Porsche chose to fit the CGT with a six-speed manual transaxle mated to a unique multi-plate carbon ceramic clutch, making it a true driver’s car.

Looking to take full advantage of his new Carrera GT the minute it came off the production line, this car’s first owner opted to take delivery at the factory rather than at his local dealership. Finished in Basalt Black Metallic over Terracotta leather, the original owner also specified wheels painted in Basalt Black to match the exterior, bucket seats that were slightly wider than standard, and a luggage set trimmed in matching Terracotta leather. The car falls neatly in the middle of the production run, as the 542nd example produced of 1,270 in total.

Immediately after taking delivery in Stuttgart in April 2005, approximately 800 miles were driven over the course of the following month across continental Europe. Afterwards, the car was shipped stateside to its home in New England. Driven regularly during the summer months, the car was shipped to Florida in the winter. During its time in the original owner’s custody, services were carried out at recommended intervals at Porsche Nashua in southern New Hampshire. Additionally, a larger service was undertaken in early 2017 by Champion Porsche of Pompano Beach, Florida, where the car was fitted with a new battery and the clutch was found to have more than half of its life remaining.

Purchased by its current and second owner in March 2017 with just over 8,500 miles on the odometer, the car was enrolled in Porsche North America’s new full service and maintenance program. With a total cost of just under $80,000, the maintenance program ensures that no stone is left unturned in keeping the car in immaculate condition, ready to drive at just a moment’s notice. Work included a major service and fitting new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in July 2017 at Porsche of Fairfield, Connecticut. It has accumulated just under 300 miles with its current owner. In addition to its spectacular cosmetic and mechanical condition, it is worth noting that the car still retains its original matching seven-piece luggage set, original owner’s manuals, window sticker, as well as a history file with correspondence and service records from throughout its life.

As close as one can get to a race car for the road, the Carrera GT offers motorsport-inspired thrills for those brave enough to slide behind the wheel. Truly a thrill to drive in every aspect, this is a car best enjoyed on the open road and will certainly reward drivers talented enough to command and control the stunning performance that it provides. Boasting just two owners and less than 8,800 miles on its odometer from new, this Carrera GT stands apart from the rest due to its stunning specification and exceptional condition.
