Ferrari is a name that everyone knows and loves. They have produced many different types of vehicles, but one thing remains the same, performance. They have proven themselves on the track and they continue to produce some of the fastest and most reliable production automobiles.

In 1980 at the Geneva Salon, Ferrari replaced the 308 GT4 with the Mondial 8 - Ferrari’s second attempt at producing a transversely-mounted mid-engined coupe with a 2+2 configuration. The "Mondial" name came from Ferrari’s history — the famed 500 Mondial racecar of the early 1950s, whilst the figure "8" was for the number of cylinders in the engine.

The Pininfarina-penned Mondial was offered in both coupe and cabriolet body styles. The four valves per cylinder, DOHC 2,926-cc, 214-hp alloy V-8 engine was offered from 1982 to 1985 in the coupe version and this engine was fitted to cabriolets from 1983 to 1985. The respective years of production saw only 1,145 coupes (such as this car) produced and the cabriolet was reserved for only 629 clients.

This vehicle contains its factory books and keys from delivery. All the right boxes were selected when this car was purchased: power steering, windows and brakes; air conditioning and an AM/FM radio are featured on this Italian sports car. The Ferrari has recently been serviced, and fitted with a new clutch by the current owner.

According to the owner, California Ferrari sold this car new to the legendary Al Davis, the late owner of the NFL Oakland Raiders organization, as per the factory warranty and service book.
