Per the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, this Austin-Healey 100 was completed on 29 September 1955 as a left-hand-drive export example destined for the United States. It was originally finished in Old English White over a red interior and complemented with a black top. While the 100’s early history is unknown, it was discovered in highly original, yet tired condition by Derek Mayor, the National Concours Secretary of the Austin-Healey Club, in the mid-1990s.

The Austin-Healey returned to the United Kingdom shortly thereafter, where Mr Mayor embarked on a no-expense-spared restoration, which he carried out himself. No stone was left unturned in returning the car to exceptional condition throughout—even the proper engine bay tags and stickers that would have been affixed to the car when new were replaced. Notably, the car’s original engine was replaced. This 100-4 BN2 was allegedly Mr Mayor’s fourth restoration project, and it proved to be quite successful on the show field after it was completed. The car is accompanied by numerous trophies and awards that it received over the years, as well as an itemized list of the extensive awards it has won.

One of Britain’s most iconic roadsters, any Austin-Healey 100 is a lovely driving machine. Brilliantly restored with countless accolades to its name, this BN2 surely will not disappoint on the road or show field.

Mentre la prima parte della storia di questa 100 è sconosciuta, si sà che è stata scoperta, in stanche ma originalissime condizioni, da Derek Mayor, il segretario del Concorso Nazionale dell’Austin-Healey Club, a metà degli anni 1990.

E’ solo poco dopo questo ritrovamento che l'Austin-Healey ritorna nel Regno Unito, dove Mayor intraprende un restauro senza limiti di spesa, che effettua di persona. Assulutamente nulla viene trascurato, ed ogni componente è sistemato per ottenere la perfezione in ogni più piccolo dettaglio, fino alle corrette etichette adesive del vano motore, sostituite con altre originali. In particolare, il motore originale della vettura è stato sostituito. Questa 100-4 BN2 è stata la quarta restaurata da Mayor e, quando terminata, si è dimostrata essere un grande successo nei Concorsi. La vettura è accompagnata da numerosi trofei e riconoscimenti che ha ricevuto nel corso degli anni, così come da un elenco dettagliato di tutti i premi che ha vinto.

Una delle roadster inglesi più rappresentative, qualsiasi Austin-Healey 100 è una macchina piacevolissima da guidare. Attentamente restaurata, vincitrice di innumerevoli riconoscimenti, questa BN2 sicuramente non deluderà il nuovo proprietario, sia sulla strada sia nei concorsi.
