The Cadillac Series 62, first introduced in 1940, was Cadillac’s mid-level luxury car offering for more than two decades. The car offered here, the 1953 Series 62 Convertible, is a fine example of the highest iteration of the third generation Series 62, the first new Cadillac to be introduced after World War II. This legendary Harley Earl design, introduced in 1948, marked the first appearance of the famous Cadillac fins, which are without question one of the most iconic styling cues of the 1950s.

This Series 62 convertible is one of just 8,367 produced for the 1953 model year. The consignor notes that he purchased the car in 2012 and has put approximately 200 miles on the odometer during that time. An older restoration, the car has been maintained in presentable condition with lovely Pastoral Blue paint, excellent chrome, and what the consignor believes may be the original dark blue interior. With a newer power top and boot and the very desirable power windows, the ride is exceptionally comfortable as befitting such a stately automobile.

The car is powered by its original 210-bhp 331-cu. in. V-8 and runs and drives well. Having been recently fitted with new brakes, this fine Series 62 Cadillac is ready to enjoy and will surely make a statement wherever it goes. With elegant presence, far greater than many of its contemporaries, this car was made for cruising the ever-expanding American highway system of the 1950s. It remains a fine choice for cruising, touring, or showing.
