Rolls-Royce Foundation build and ownership records, copies of which are on file, indicate that this immaculate Silver Cloud III was originally finished in Astral Blue with a silver pinstripe, blue leather upholstery piped in blue, a grey headliner, and Ambassador Blue carpeting. It was finished to U.S. specifications with electric windows, electric radio aerial, plain Sundym glass, and no insignia on the rear trunk lid, and was shipped to New York dealer J.S. Inskip via the SS Gasconia on 1 January 1965. The original owner was John Jacob Strader IV of 3630 Clinton Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio, member of one of the city's oldest and most prominent families.

The current owner is a longtime, dedicated Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiast, who notes that the car has always been well maintained in its original colors, with its most recent service performed by the noted specialist Doug Siebert; it runs smoothly and quietly. Its paint was redone in the original color and the chrome is in splendid condition, as is the interior, which has been only spot-dyed as necessary aside from new front seat "horseshoes"; both the carpeting and optional mouton rugs are original. It retains sets of road and hand tools, down to the luggage straps, as well as the original handbook. The correct factory front fender air conditioning remains in place today, as does the original factory radio. The car recorded 54,244 miles, believed original, at the time of cataloguing.

This is a superb Silver Cloud III worthy of the finest post-war Rolls-Royce collection.
