A company not known for subtlety, Brabus GmBH has been tuning Mercedes-Benz automobiles for over 40 years. The Bottrop-based German tuner has become well known for shoehorning the largest engines possible into Mercedes-Benz vehicles—thanks in part to their Lego-like nature—with noteworthy examples including a V-8-powered W201 chassis and even a V-12-powered W124. Today, Brabus is among the largest tuning companies in the world, with an expansive production facility featuring five separate factories packed with brand new Mercedes, Smarts, and a bevy of other makes. Catering to exclusive clientele, Brabus cars are tailor-made to order and finished with the most exquisite materials.

Beginning life as a standard Mercedes-Maybach S600, the engineers at Brabus modified this example to “900” specification. Once in their hands, displacement of the 6.0-litre, twin turbo, V-12 engine was increased to 6.2 liters thanks to a billet crankshaft connected to forged pistons, which together allow a longer stroke. The engine exhales through high-flow exhaust manifolds, which feed larger turbochargers. The result is an astounding 900 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of toque. The tremendous amount of power can hurtle this multi-ton limousine to a claimed top speed of 350 km/h.

Modifications under the hood are just the beginning of any Brabus build. The stealthy black exterior has been fitted with aggressive styling details, including a vertically straked, chrome grille and enlarged openings in the lower bumper to feed heat exchangers. The rear features a restyled bumper atop circular quad exhaust tips. Inside, diamond-stitched Tobacco leather swathes nearly every surface. Rear passengers have the privilege of laying back and watching a movie with their preferred chilled beverage at hand, thanks to fully reclining rear seats, a suite of infotainment screens, and a storage cooler.

Included with the vehicle are Mercedes-Benz manuals, remote controls for the entertainment systems, a first-aid kit, and a tire inflation device. With just 9,543 kilometers showing on the odometer at the time of cataloging, this Brabus 900 has been sparingly driven.
