This 1967 Ford Mustang fastback has been heavily modified into a Shelby GT500 custom by Showtime Musclecar in Laval, Quebec, Canada. The exterior is finished in gray with black racing stripes. It features an aggressive front end, complete with a high-rise hood with flush hood pins, custom lower air dam with integrated fog lights and a badge-deleted grille. Further modifications to the body include fender flares, side skirts with integrated exhaust dumps, quarter window air scoops, air scoops behind each door, and a duckbill trunk lid. The gray paint is accented nicely by chrome window trim, dual Talbot-style mirrors, and a race-inspired quick-release gas cap. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires mounted on painted knock-off-style wheels with polished lips.

The car is powered by a Ford Performance 5.8-liter four-valve V-8 aluminum crate engine with a Kenne Bell Mammoth water-cooled supercharger and stainless steel headers. The engine itself cost $39,500 CAD. It is fed by a Aeromotive fuel system, and kept cool by a C&R aluminum radiator with custom built fan and a Canton Racing cooling system. Completing the powertrain is a Tremec T56 Magnum XL six-speed manual transmission which sends power to a Trutrac 3.50:1 rear differential featuring 35-spline axles and a Tilton differential cooling system.

The car is equipped with a performance front sway bar, RideTech Pro Touring adjustable suspension, drop spindles, and rack-and-pinion power steering. Braking is completed by Wilwood six-piston brake calipers with 14-mm cross drilled discs up front and four-piston brake calipers with 14-mm cross drilled discs at the back. To accommodate the additional power, the chassis has been reinforced with frame connectors and added bracing.

The interior is finished in black and features bucket seats with lap belts, an overhead console, rollbar, and fold-down rear seat. A modern Kenwood media unit has been installed along with modern speakers in the doors and in place of the rear quarter windows. Behind the rear seats is a custom JL Audio setup. Further interior modernization includes the addition of power windows and the integration of digital instrumentation into the retro gauge cluster.

This impressive build was completed at a cost of over $250,000 CAD. With its modernized drivetrain and classic, timeless design, this custom made Shelby GT500 offers the best of both worlds, and is a Mustang sure to turn heads.
