In the late 1960s came the mid-engined Dino, the first “baby” Ferrari in a long line of illustrious entry-level models. Evolving into the V-8–engined 308 by 1975, the following 328s and 348s continued the junior Ferrari’s reputation for elegant design and spirited performance. The F355 was the fifth incarnation, and from May 1994 was offered as either a fixed-head berlinetta or a targa-topped GTS; these were joined by a spider variant a year later. Despite combining the practicality of the berlinetta with the open top excitement of the spider, significantly fewer examples of the GTS were offered than its berlinetta and spider companions.

This F355 GTS is one of only 529 examples built with the innovative F1 transmission and was delivered to Wide World Ferrari of Spring Valley, New York. While many F355 GTSs were ordered with a black vinyl targa top, this example features the desirable painted roof option. In addition to the painted top, the Ferrari was ordered with red brake calipers and a rear Challenge grille. The optional Challenge grille not only looks more aggressive, but it also helps vent heat from the engine bay and allowing it to run cooler. All the black interior parts, which are known to become sticky with age, were removed and refinished in 2013. In 2019, the major engine-out service was completed, which included a clutch replacement. The F355 has been driven less than 11,300 miles from new and remains in excellent condition. Included with the car is the tool kit, books in leather folio, car cover, original window sticker, tire repair kit, and service records.
