Media Buyer/Planner
Digital Content Coordinator

Job Title: Media Buyer/Planner
Department: Marketing

Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer

 

Position Purpose:
The Media Buyer/Planner is responsible for the development and execution of digital and traditional media objectives, strategies, plans, and tactics for RM Sotheby’s. This individual is the primary point of contact between vendors and our strategy implementation team members. You will be responsible for negotiating, buying, and maintaining media schedules, ensuring that final buys deliver on the approved plan objective and strategy, provide recommendations on how competitive activities can be exploited to our advantage, and be responsible for ad sales for our corporate magazine.

 

Primary (day-to-day) Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of paid and match inventory
  • Effectively use relationship media tools to aid in plan development
  • Assist in developing plan metrics; responsible for analyses and related reports pertaining to KPI
  • Prepare, check, verify, and issue analyses, including ongoing maintenance
  • Oversee the resolution of billing discrepancies
  • Learn to manage and build client relationships (when at Senior level)
  • Analyze media alternatives to recommend how to best allocate the advertising budget
  • Manage day-to-day plan changes/maintenance of media plans
  • Facilitate competitive analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Develop points of view on media opportunities
  • Play a key role in the budget and billing process to ensure accuracy
  • Write and maintain status and contact reports to ensure efficient workflow to meet deadlines

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze marketing and media data to support implementation decisions
  • Search for unique sources of information to support non-traditional recommendations

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years as a Planning and/or Buying Assistant

 

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates understanding of media basics and concepts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of syndicated tools (Cision, Evaliant, Xpert, Comscore, PMB, etc.)
  • Possess a desire to understand the broader media landscape and its impact on campaigns and strategies

 

Desired Qualities:

  • Digitally savvy: personally uses digital and social media; demonstrates passion for emerging media; possesses knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Images; and has the ability to search and research specific topics
  • Interest in video disciplines (traditional, online, digital, etc.)
  • Interest in the automotive collecting hobby



Job Title: Digital Content Coordinator
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Director of Marketing

 

Position Purpose:
The Digital Content Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of a range of cross-platform digital work. They will play a large role in producing and distributing content for digital marketing, ranging from the corporate website, emails and newsletters, mobile/tablet apps, digital ads and the like. The role involves working closely with the Digital Content Creator, our in-house Creative Team, and IT teams. You will be responsible for upholding the RM brand on all digital platforms and implementing its digital marketing strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate multiple projects between the marketing and creative department
  • Schedules and implements content for email marketing, digital marketing/advertising, and the corporate website
  • Maintains and updates corporate website
  • Aids in writing content for email marketing, online advertisements, and other digital marketing mediums
  • Liaises with outside organizations, including our partnership with Sotheby’s, to implement, monitor, and report on digital marketing effectiveness
  • Creates and tracks marketing activities in CRM for projects managed
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Marketing

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing tools, processes, best practices, etc.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of HTML, and CSS
  • Understands digital business goals and the target audience
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent written, organizational, and communication skills
  • Possesses a strategic approach
  • Must be bondableand authorized towork in Canada
  • Automotive interest is a plus
